江戸民具街道の展示室と見学方法について説明します。

This is the digital guide of the museum floor space and where to look at.

1. 展示室の見学方法 How to look around

ここは以前大手電機メーカーの独身寮でした。独身寮の建物を改造して博物館になっています。廊下、階段、そして18の小部屋からなっています。入口を入ったら廊下を右に進んで下さい。 展示室は廊下を挟んで手前右側から順番に次の部屋へと進み、それぞれの部屋を見学してください。また各展示室の展示品は右から左へと見学して下さい。
The building of the museum used to be a dormitory of one of the major electric companies and has now been refurbished as a privately owned museum.  After walking thorogh the gate at the entrance, please turn to the right and walk through the corridor and see the exhibition rooms from the right-hand side and proceed to the next one.  In each room, please see exhibits from the right to the left. 

2. 展示スペース概要 Exhibition space

展示品はテーマ毎に分けてそれぞれ廊下や角、小部屋に展示されています。
The exhibits are showcased by themes in rooms and corridors.

明治時代初期に来日した米国人の動物学者モース博士は日本で見るもの全てが新鮮且つ驚きであったようです。貴方もモース博士と同じように江戸民具街道で不思議な体験をしてみて下さい。ここは江戸時代、明治時代、大正時代、そして昭和初期へと貴方をいざなう歴史街道です。
Prof. Morse who came to Japan in the early Meiji Period saw Japan with full of curiosity.  Just like a foreigner in Japan more than 100 years ago, you would find so much things that may intrigue your curiosity at Edo Mingu Kaido.  This is a time machine that takes you back to the old Japan in the Edo, Meiji, Taisho and early Show Periods.

一階廊下 Corridor on the 1st Floor	入口 Entrance		玄関から木の根っ子でできた門を通り抜けます。 There is a gate made of a large stem of a tree.
	土蔵の扉の通り Warehouse doors		入口から展示室までの廊下に土蔵の扉が並んでいます。 Warehouse doors on the both side of the corridor leading you to the exhibition space.	土蔵の扉	・商の道具
	看板の通り Shop signs		土蔵の扉の通りを抜けると江戸、明治、大正、昭和初期の看板が並んでいます。 There are shop signs next to the warehouse doors.	看板	・商の道具
	井戸の角 Mizukumade		一階展示室入口には井戸の底から物を拾う水熊手が2台あります。ご自由に触って下さい。 Next to the shop signs, there is a space where you can touch mizukumade and play around.	水熊手	・水の道具
	人力車の角 Jinrikisha		明治時代の人力車と版画、切符が展示されています。 At the end of the corridor, there is a jinrikisha of the Meiji Period	人力車、版画、人力車の切符	・運ぶ道具
一階展示室 Exhibiiton Rooms on the 1st Floor	①古民具の部屋 1.Japanese Folk Art		ここには江戸民具街道を象徴する展示品が置かれています。 This first room represents the major themes of transportation related, and heating & lighting appliances.	飛脚の書状箱、駕籠、車箪笥、獅子頭、火鉢、煙草盆、お酒の道具、囲炉裏、土蔵階段	・運ぶ道具 ・食の道具
	② 篝と油皿の部屋 Cressets & Open Oil Lamps		火打ち道具、木を灯す道具、油を灯す道具が展示されています。 You can see primitive lighting appliances to burn wood known as cressets and open saucer lamps and open stand lamps to light oil.	火打ち道具、篝（かがり）、ひで鉢、松とうがい、ほりこ、松脂ろうそく、油皿、たんころ、ひょうそく、たんけい、浮芯灯	・火の道具
	③ 行灯の部屋 Floor Lanterns		二宮金次郎の部屋と題し、さまざま形状の行灯が並んでいます。暗室にして江戸期の行灯のあかりを体験できます。 There are a variety of floor lanterns in various shapes made of wood and metal in which a light source is covered with Japanese paper.	名古屋行灯、丸行灯、遠州行灯、角行灯、有明行灯、枕行灯、からくり行灯、船行灯	・火の道具
	④ 吊灯籠と提灯の部屋 4.Hanging & Handheld Lanterns		吊灯籠、瓦灯、様々な種類の提灯、がんどう等を展示しています。 Hanging lanterns, cray made lanterns, various chochin lanterns, gando search light are exhibited.	吊灯籠、蝉灯籠、瓦灯、小田原提灯、駕籠屋提灯、馬上提灯、人力車提灯、木製手提げ提灯、蔵提灯、がんどう	・火の道具
	⑤ 燭台の部屋 Candle Holders		様々な形状、種類、材質の燭台が並んでいます。 A variety of candle holders in various shapes and designs and made of various materials.	燭台、灯台、手燭、手持ち行灯、きったて	・火の道具
	⑥ 石油ランプの部屋 Kerosene Lamps		鉱物油（灯油）を灯す石油ランプが多数展示されています。 Kerosene or paraffine lamps both imported and produced domestically in the Meiji Period are showcased.	台ランプ、吊ランプ、小型のランプ、空気ランプ、モデレーターランプ	・火の道具
	⑦ ランタン、ガス灯、電灯の部屋 Modern Lanterns, Gas & Electric Light		変わり石油ランプ、ランタンからガス灯、タングステンフィラメントランプが並んでいます。石油ストーブの前身ともいえる石油ランプを熱源に使った珍品が見れます。 Curious style kerosene lamps, lanterns for transportation use, kerosene lamps used as stoves. 	⑧ あかりの実験室 Laboratory of Light		あかりの点灯実験を行う部屋です。通常は閉じています。 This is the laboratory to experiment light using the fire.		・火の道具
二階廊下 Corridor on the 2nd Floor	鋤と鍬の角 Plows & Hoes		農家で使った鍬、大型の鋤、バンドリを展示しています。明治の洋館に使ったジェラードの瓦が3枚展示されています。 Plows and hoes, rain coats used by farmers are displayed.  You can see roof tiles made by Gerard in the Meiji Period.	鍬、鋤、バンドリ	・農の道具
	納屋の角 Farmers Workshop		昭和初期の縄なえ機が展示されています。その後ろに展示してる農民が使った蓑（ミノ）の繊細な作りをご覧ください。 There is a machine invented in the Taisho Period to produce ropes using straw is displayed.	縄なえ機、蓑（ミノ）	・農の道具
二階展示室 Exhibtion Rooms on the 2nd Floor	⑨ 江戸期火消しの部屋 9. Firefighters Tools		江戸時代の火消ポンプが多数展示されています。当時の防火服である刺子半纏の裏側の染めの美しさをご堪能下さい。破壊消防で家を壊すための道具である鳶口のコレクションは必見です。 A variety of water pumps of the Edo Period used by firefighters are exhibited. Firefighters quilted coats are something you should see, inside of which were beautifully dyed with designs. 	⑩ 明治期火消しの部屋 10.Firefighters Tools		明治時代の消防車や消防ポンプが見れます。また明治時代の消防服を見比べて下さい。 You can see water pumps of the Meiji Period. You can compare them with the ones of the Edo Period.	消防車、消防ポンプ、防火服	・水の道具
	⑪ 時計の部屋 11. Clocks		金沢藩で19世紀初頭に使った和時計を展示しています。 A clock of futeijiho used in the domain of Kanazawa in the early 19th century is showcased.	和時計、日時計、香時計、柱時計、置時計、蓄音機	・時の道具 ・音の道具
	⑫ ラジオの部屋 12. Radios		大正時代～昭和初期のラジオを展示しています。  Early radios  from 1920's and 1930's	蓄電池ラジオ、エリミネーターラジオ、モールス鍵とサウンダー	・通信の道具
	⑬ラジオの部屋 13. Radios		戦前・戦中・戦後のラジオを展示しています。 Early radios  from 1940's and 1950's	玉音放送を聞いたラジオ	・通信の道具
	⑭社会科の部屋 14. Everyday Tools in the Past		小学校社会科の教科書に登場する道具を展示しています。 Everyday tools, used in the past, that elementary school children learn in social studies class.	鉄アイロン、火のしアイロン、すり鉢、すりこぎ、湯たんぽ、枡、冷蔵庫	・火の道具
	⑮吊る道具の部屋 15. Tools Suspended		自在鉤、吊秤、天秤ばかり、滑車、井戸桶、鞴（ふいご）を展示しています。滑車と鞴はご自由にいじってみて下さい。 Pot hooks, scales, pulleys, water buckets, bellows are on display. You can touch and try pulleys, scales, and a bellow.	自在鉤、吊秤、天秤	・火の道具 ・商の道具
	⑯ 回す道具の部屋 16. Tools Rotate		滑車、糸車、座繰り、水車といった回る道具を展示しています。 You can see tools that mechanically turn, such as pulleys, reels and spinning wheels, a portable man-powered irrigating wheel.	滑車、糸車、座繰り、水車	・農の道具
	⑰ 動かす道具の部屋 17. Tools to Process		木挽職人の大型ののこぎり、石臼、薬研、薬剤師の道具、お酒の道具を展示しています。 Large size saws, stone mills, grinders, pharmacists tools, sake wine containers are on display.	大型ののこぎり、石臼、薬研、らんびき、薬箪笥、薬壺、お酒の道具	・農の道具 ・食の道具
	⑱ 木の道具の部屋 18. Woodwork		版木、菓子木型、商人が使った道具であるそろばん、銭箱、を展示してます。 Woodblocks for print, confectionary molds, abacus, and coin boxes are displayed.	版木、菓子木型菓子入れ、そろばん、銭箱、千両箱、藩札	・商の道具 ・食の道具

3. 学習体験スペース Experience and learning space

一階入口左側の広間は学習体験スペースとしてあかりの道具類を触って頂くことができます。火おこし体験をしていただくこともできます。
In the living room by the entrance, you can touch and play with antiques such as lighting appliances.  You can try to kindle fire.
